Olympic Marathon Team Member Hattori Gives Tips on Form Exercises You Can Do at Home

Tokyo Olympics men's marathon team member Yuma Hattori (26, Toyota) gave an exclusive interview to Sponichi, giving tips on exercises that young athletes and amateur runners can do indoors to work on their running form. "This exercise is for developing propulsive strength," he explained. "Be conscious of the direction of motion. The key point is the extension of the hip joint of the supporting leg, not the buttocks. If the muscles in the buttocks are stretched it will result in a different motion."
