Gov't) turned in his best race of the year and one of the best of his career at the TCS New York City Marathon, negative splitting 2:13:29 for 6th place overall as the top non-African finisher. by Brett Larner In his third-straight appearance on a World Championships or Olympic team, Kentaro Nakamoto  (Team Yasukawa Denki) confirmed his position as Japan's best marathoner, building on his 10th-place finish at the 2011 Daegu World Championships and 6th-place finish last summer at the London Olympics with a characteristically steady and relentless race for 5th in 2:10:50 in the Moscow World Championships marathon after spending most of the race in the leading pack with eventual medalists Stephen Kiprotich (Uganda), Lelisa Desisa  (Ethiopia) and Tadese Tola  (Ethiopia) and defending Chicago and London Marathon champion Tsegay Kebede  (Ethiopia). by Brett Larner All three pro Japanese runners at the 117th Boston Marathon ran well, both Yuka Yano (Canon AC Kyushu) and Manami Kanitanida  (Team Hitachi) recording PBs after leading through the lazy early pace in the women's race and Tomohiro Tanigawa  (Team Konica Minolta) finishing 13th in his debut.  More importantly, all three and their supporters were confirmed safe following the finish line bombings .
