Inside the Outside - When the World Came to Fukuoka

75 years, 75 stories from the people who made Japan's Fukuoka International Marathon international. This is the full-length version of this Japan Running News production.

New memberships and one-time support of $50 USD or more will get access to additional unreleased footage from many of the legends included in the video. One-time support of $100 USD or more will also get you a limited-edition Inside the Outside t-shirt or coffee mug with a photo of the moonlit pre-dawn entrance to historic Heiwadai Field, start and finish point for the marathon, with your choice of "Inside the Outside," "Historic Heiwadai Field," or no caption.

After 75 years, the Fukuoka International Marathon came to an end on December 5, 2021 with its 75th running. 75 legendary marathoners from around the world and across Fukuoka's history talk about their memories of traveling to Japan to run in one of the world's greatest races. Featuring 26 Olympic and World Championships medalists, 5 marathon world record breakers, and music by Black Market Karma and Matt Wilson and his Orchestra.

This is history.

Hi Brett,

I've just become a member and paid an extra amount to try and get a Fukuoka T-shirt. Not sure if this is how to contact you about it but couldn't find an email address for you.
Anyway greetings from Australia, loved the Documentary (so many memories in it for me) and have really valued your Japan running news over the last few years.

Five New Championship Records at Japanese Olympic Trials Day Two

Complete results here . Women's Pole Vault Final National record holder Misaki Morota cleared her minimum goal, the win in 4.31 m to score enough points to move from 33rd to 32nd in the 32-deep Paris Olympic quota. Morota took two attempts to get over 4.30 m, but on her first try at a Japanese National Championships meet record 4.41 m she got it done. That gave her enough points to move to 30th, but it would take clearing 4.50, 2 cm higher than Morota's NR, to move to 29th. That proved to be out of range, leaving Morota in good position but still waiting to see the outcome of...
